SmartBridge Error Message on Computer Startup after installing IE

Discussion in 'Internet Explorer' started by idontdowindows, Nov 2, 2006.

  1. I just installed the IE 7 Windows Update this morning and ever since I have
been recieving an error message each time I start up the computer. The
    message is:

SmartBridge Alerts: MotiveSB.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in
    the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL

I have never gotten this message until installing IE7 this morning. I did
have extreme lag upon installing IE7 but by reading the posts in this forum,
and disabling the phishing device, the lag has ceased. I am still getting
this pretty alarming error message each time I log on, though. Can anybody
help? I am running Windows Media Center.

Motive SmartBridge© is distributing an old version of PSAPI.DLL. As a
result, users might receive the following error message after installation
    of Internet Explorer 7:

"SmartBridge Alerts:MotiveSB.exe Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry
point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link
    library PSAPI.DLL"

    To work around this error:

    * Go to the installation location for SmartBridge (\Program
    Files\Verizon...\Smart...)

    * Find PSAPI.DLL and rename it to something like PSAPIOLD.DLL

    * Restart the computer The program will find the new PSAPI.DLL in the
    \Windows\System32 directory and function normally.
