I read some of the threads on here and may of you guys had the same problem
as me. Whenever I tried to play certain video files or play streaming
videos, my video would play at extra slow speed as well as the audio (low
pitched nasty disgusting sound). Well my solution will fix this problem but
it will require you to downgrade to WMP 9. It seems that microsoft has done
it again; make another stupid error on one of their most universally and
worldly known program. Hopefully microsoft will soon address this problem in
    their future updates for WMP.

    SO

    To downgrade to WMP 9...

    Go to:
start - control panel - add/remove program - put a check mark on show
updates placed at the top center of the window - scroll down to Windows XP
software updates - look for Windows Media Series 10 I think and remove it!

This will downgrade your WMP to series 9 and will fix the problem. It did
for me! so.. yea.. hope you guys find this useful.. and HOPE MICROSOFT WILL
    START THINKING....
