    Hey everyone...
I have been looking for an answer here but i couldn`t find exactly what i
    needed.

    Anyway.

I have bought a Sony VAIO desktop PC model VGC-RB38G , WIN XP Media Center
    Edition 2005.
Everything worked fine until one day out of nowhere about 8 months agao the
    TV tuner stopped working.
If i go to turn it on in the media center it automatically comes out with a
message saying that "There is no TV tuner card installed" 8-( ???????
After it worked fine for 6 months when purchasing it brand new out of the
    box.

Can someone please help me out.
    :(
    Thanx in advance
    Jesse

    I correct myself :

The computer doesn`t tell me that the TV tuner card is not installed but it
    actually says exactly like this:

" Video cannot be displayed because no tuner hardware has been
detected. Please check that your tuner hardware is properly installed and
    plugged in."

if you go into my computer/manage, click on device manager, right click on
display adapters and click on properties.. does it say something 'this device
is working properly'? if not you could try 'disable and then enable'

Actually that might only show his video card properties, as he states in his
question that it is a tuner problem, I might suggest that yes you follow
those instructions but when you get to device manager I suggest you scroll
down further and you will problably find a spot called audio/video/game
controllers, open that one up and you may find your tuner card listed there
or if you can't find it there may be a big yellow question mark thru where it
should be. If you find the yellow question mark it means that item is not
installed properly. So anyways check where I mention just in case.

Open Device Manager and check under Sound, video and game controllers. If
you get that there, then right click on it and uninstall.Reboot, the
system,it will automatically detect the tuner card. Now visit
manufacturer's site to update the driver. Finally run setup TV signals again.
