Hi guys, I have recently installed XP from a win98se
platform. since having installed XP my Herculese prophet
II MX card wont work (XP says it cant start and has a
code 10 - if that means anything to anyone!) Also I have
a SB live value card - neither are recognised at all.
Both cards worked fine with 98se but not now. I have
uninstalled them from windows, phisically taken both
cards out and restared, downloaded the drivers from the
wed sites - I have all the correct and up to date
drivers, but neither still wont work. strangely, I can
still use the PC via the prophet card but there is no 3d
capability and scrolling is painfully jerky ! Any ideas,
this is really bugging me ! (system is athlon 1.2Gig,
512meg ram, 40gig HDD etc etc)

  2. I would suggest making sure that the drivers you got are for WindowsXP not
Windows 98. This is something that people get wrong, best to illiminate that

Can you try installing the cards independant of one another and see if one
will work and the other work..?

If that fails, i would suggest either posting this in both the hardware and
    windowsxp newsgroup.

Hope that is of some help,

  3. This is very odd...

However, in all fairness i'm not sure if your problem is suited to this
newsgroup. We specialise in Windows Update. I thought that those tips may
have helped, thats why i mentioned them to you. Sorry to hear that they
don't. I would recommend posting what you did in your first post in the
WindowsXP newsgroup AND the hardware newsgroup.
