SP3a sql 2000 install

    When trying to install sql 2000 sp3a on a 2003 server, I
    get the following error.

    Setup initialization error.
    access is denied.
    Source: D:\x86\setup\sqlspre.ini
    target: C:\docume~1\admini~1\local~1\temp\setupsql.ini


    Any ideas?

    Hello,

    Go into that folder (C:\docume~1 ...) and delete the file setupsql.ini

    Re-run the setup.

    If it still doesn't work, i would recommend you to ask in
    microsoft.public.sqlserver.server

    They can help you with problems about SQL Server 2000.

    Logged in as a local admin? Rebooted between installing SQL and SP3?
