    Hi,
    WinXP Pro SP3 /WLM 12.0.1606

Every time I close WLM a .sqm file is created. If I close 10 times a day
then 10 files are created with increasing number spmdata##.spm so after a
few years I will end up with a gazillion .spm files. :)

    1. What is the use of these files?
    2. Can they be deleted without causing WLM to crash or acting weirder then
    it is now?

    Thanks

I don't think you'll end up with very many.

I've only got 20 of each of the following with numbers 00 to 19.

    sqmdata##.sqm
    sqmnoopt##.sqm

It appears that they get reused. After 19 is updated, then it goes back
    to 00.

In my case, the sqmdata##.sqm files haven't been updated in months,
whereas the sqmnoopt##.sqm files have been updated recently.

    Hi,
I've updated to ver. 14 beta and now all I get is 1 sqmnoopt00.sqm file that
appears only after I close WLM. This is weird.

Do you have "Help make Microsoft software..." selected at [Tools >]
Options > General? If so, try switching it off and see if that
    helps.
