    Hi!
Could really use some help on this issue. I've done a fair amount of
research and can't figure it out...
Is there any way to start an audio file at a specific location within the
file, perhaps with a file suffix?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Do a search on CUE sheets.
This is a common method to describe the contents of an audio file.
Some even prefer to rip a CD to a single file and use cue sheets to locate
    the tracks
