Stolen Credit Card Spam?

    Wow. I haven't visited this ng for a long, long time. It looks like the
    credit card thieves have chased away all the legitimate posters.

    When did this happen?

    Learn to define, tweak, and maintain kill filters in your NNTP client.
    Then the newsgroup will get very quiet. Some crap can be filtered out
    immediately with just a few easily defined filters. Some crap is
    gooey and sticks to everything so it takes more work over a longer
    time to come up with and update filters to get rid of the turds
    without flushing away [too many of] the good posts.

    Filtering lets you define what view you have of newsgroups. I don't
    see any of those turds of which you complain due to my filtering.

    It's not nearly as busy as it used to be, in large
    part because Microsoft stopped supporting their
    own groups and many people don't know they're
    still available.

    On the bright side, the spam subject
    lines are dependably incoherent, making them easy
    to skip. :)
