Stopping Overwriting of Album Art (Folder.jpg, SmallAlbumArt.jpg)

I have searched the forum and found valuable info on albums cover in WMP10.
For those albums whose cover cannot be found on the web, I have scanned and
sized the CD cover art and created the Folder.jpg and SmallAlbumArt.jpg
files. However, I find at times that these images get overwritten when the
player goes out to the web to find info - how can I prevent this from
happening (and winding up with the "default" musical note "art")?

    Thanks and Regards,

  2. It's very hard with v10 (See blog entry:

I recommend using the Advanced Tag Editor or similar to place copies of
the album art *inside* the media files, and write-protecting those files.

A back-up is the only real protection. v10 is very persistent in
overwriting your data, and any upgrade to WMP gives it an opportunity to
    re-download and overwrite your files.
