I frequently open new web pages by entering their URL into the Run dialog box
from the start menu. I find it quicker to do WIN+R the type the URL, than to
click on the blue E with my mouse, then click the address field and start
    typing.

I find it most annoying that URLs opened in this fashion as well as links
clicked on in other programs (Outlook for example) have to open in brand new
windows. Please give us the *OPTION* to have external links opened as a new
tab if there is an IE window open currently.

tools - internet options - tab settings - check box where it says "Always
switch to new tabs when they are created." Also check "Always open new pop
    ups in new tabl"
