I don't have OutLook. Got new "smart" phone (HTC IMAGIO). Trying to
understand what will and will not sync between phone, "My Phone" online site,
    WLHotmail (online) and WLM (desktop).

To test sync of contacts I entered 1 dummy contact with unique information
into each source: phone, "MyPhone", WLMHotmail, WLM. Results: contact
entered into WLMHotmail propagated to all 3 other locations. Contact entered
into WLM desktop propagated only to phone & "MyPhone". Contact entered into
phone and "MyPhone" only propagated to each other, not to either WLM
    application.

Does this make sense? Is this the way it's suppose to be? When my phone
was first set up it "pulled" contacts from WLMHotmail. Why didn't the
contacts origianlly entered into phone make there way online to WLMHotmail?

Why didn't WLM sync w/ WLMHotmail? It did before I got this new phone.

And I realize that calendar and tasks will not sync w/ either WLM app; that
will only work w/ OL which I don't have.

    Any help?

Is the same Live ID for the Hotmail account being used to logon to Windows Live in WLM.

If using Windows Mobile 6.5, sync, afaik, should work across Windows Live
    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmob...rch=13=&14=&11.222=1#detail=907&filter=11.222

The above provides this link on what Live does.
    http://www.windowsliveformobile.com/en-us/windowsphone/default.aspx

Note: Messenger appears to be the supporting application for managing contacts.

Since the current version of Messenger and WLM use the same contacts database, it would seem the WLM should be updated after
synchronization with the Live Servers for the signed on Live ID Hotmail account.

If using Mobile 6.0, iirc setting up a Windows Live Hotmail account through the Mobile 6.0 Messaging option was not supported on
    touch phones.
