synchronising after outlook was re-installed and pst file exported

  1. hi all,

I am using office 2003 with outlook (stand alone, no exchange server) and
syncronize with pocket pc. now I got a new PC and installad outlook on it.
now I want to export the .pst file on the old pc and import it on the new one.

last time I've done this procedure I had the problem, that all entries on
the pocket pc were deleted and syncronized again. So I had many duplicated
entries. Is there any possiblity to syncronize the pocket pc without the
entires are deleted and created again after re-install of outlook?

    Hi Reinhard,

It is recommended to delete the partnership before you sync (after an
import). To delete and recreate a
    partnership --

    1. Disconnect the PPC from the computer.
    2. In Activesync -> File -> Delete Partnership.
    3. Connect the device and follow the onscreen
instructions to setup a new partnership.

This way ActiveSync will check for duplicates when you select the "Combine"
option in the Combine or Replace dialog.
