Computer #1: IE File > Import and Export > Export Favorites > Copy the
    exported file to Computer #2.

Computer #2: IE File > Import and Export > Import Favorites > Point the
wizard to the file you copied from Computer #1.

    Does that not make duplicates?

What works well for me is the Windows Live Toolbar with Live Favorites. It
will sync favorites on all computers it is installed on and give you web
access to all of your favorites from any computer. It can be downloaded from
    http://getlive.com/ .

thanks for that - either there's a problem with the server at the moment,
or/and I have far more favorites than the storage space allows... :-(
