What is the best method of diagnosing a resource shortage reported via a
pop-up window, with a red button containing an X, after invoking a program
such as mmc.exe, or one of the snap-ins such as enterprise manager? I've used
the performance monitor and added a counter for memory and it does not appear
to be a memory shortage. I've checked the disk drives and threre are no
quotas. What other system resources to check? And how?

  2. Use Task Manager to determine what program is using up increasing amounts of
memory or at least the most memory and also examine your event viewer system
log for errors regarding the non-paged pool. Error 2019 specifically.
