when doing a backup of my system state on a 2003 server sp1, it fails with
    the following error:
"NTDS" has reported an error 0x800423f0. This is part of System State. I
did a google and found the following tech note
    http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=909265&SD=tech.

It explains thaty if your AD database and logs are on different drives then
the backup will fail. This is a bit silly to me because when you install AD
and it asks you where you want to store the info, the wizard actually says
somthing like "for best performance and recoverability store the database and
    logs on different disks"

So anyway, in the backup utility for windows, I have selected the system
state, and also manually chosen the windows directory on my D: drive that
holds the logs. I just wanted to ask that if i need to restore my AD that by
doing this backup method it will work ok.

    thanks.
