I have upgraded 8 of our servers from Windows 2000 to
2003. My issue is with one server that will not install
terminal services correctly. It worked fine before the
upgrade, following the upgrade the service does not
start. The error is "error 2:The system cannot find the
specified file." I have uninstalled, rebooted, then
reinstalled and get the same error.

  2. Hi Mike,

    Thanks for your posting here.

Please export the following TermService service key from other Windows 2003
that Terminal service works properly and import it on this server.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TermService

    Restart computer.

If the problem still persists, I suspect that the problem was caused by
files corruption during upgrade, possibly due to some third party software,
    for example antivirus.

You can refer to the following article to perform an In-place upgrade.
