I've got a Windows 2003 server and I have been backing up to an external HDD.
I tried to restore a folder today and I get the following error...."the
backup file contains unrecognized data and cannot be used".
I have restored from the drive before, the backups are created in NT Backup
(.bkf) and I am trying to restore them in NT Backup? I can download a trial
version of a 3rd patry program that can open the backup file and browse/open
the files, but it's very expensive. Why can't I read my own backup files
    created in the same program?
Can anyone shed any light on the matter?
I don't think it's right that I have to purchase 3rd party software to read
the backups that I created in the same program as I am trying to restore them
    in?
