I tried to install Windows XP Pro (original release, not SP1 or SP2) on to
    Virtual PC 2007 and got
"The file I386\Ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded. The error code is 7"
message and installation cannot be continued. Microsoft's knowledgebase
advises this could be related to a faulty RAM or BIOS problem but I cannot
find any other solutions about this issue regarding to Virtual PC. Can
    anybody help to resolve this?

No, I give up setting up XP on my Virtual PC 2007. Instead I installed Win2K
    pro.

    Albert,

I had a similar message when installing XP on VPC - it was a different file
but the same folder. After reading MS KB and Googling and trying a bunch of
things, I noticed that my XP disk was smudged! Cleaning it solved the
    problem.

    Hi Doug,

Thanks for your advise. I think my problem is more than that. I installed
Win 2K pro first and then copy the whole XP cd onto the virtual disk and run
XP's setup from the virtual disk. Still get the some error. Any other ideas?

    Albert,

Are you saying that you installed Win 2K on the virtual PC first? Or is
    that your host system?
