If I try to play a specific radio station in WMP 9 on XP
    I get this error msg:

"The source filter for this file could not be loaded."

This radio station used to play in WMP, it still does via
Internet Explorer. Have I caused this to stop working in
WMP by changing something or has the radio station
stopped transmitting via this method? If I understand
correctly radio playing in WMP and IE are via different
    means on my PC.

The radio station in question is jazz fm 102.2 fm which
is in the featured stations in WMP (at least in the UK
    guide I get)

    Thanks

    David

Does it work in mplayer2.exe (already on your system)?
