    I find this odd?? http://www.windowspatch.info/
If you click on the patch needed for your system..You are asked to pay for
it. I have never seen where you have to pay for a patch or fix before??

Also..I downloaded the patch (823980) some time ago. Everything seemed to go
fine, patch shows installed in my "add & remove programs".
But my task bar with critical updates does not recognize I downloaded it!
Will not go away? Tells me I still need the patch!

    Help!
    Thanks*Sherlynn

  3. Microsoft never distributes patches by email.

Hopefully, you are running an up to date anti-virus software.
I would stop everything until you rescan your system.

**No, I did not open an email....that security warning and link just came
as a pop up, to visit that site for a patch.

**Now the (823980) patch was a security update, from my critical updates. My
critical updates is not recognizing I have the patch...??
This patch is lagit. I need to know way critical updates is not recognizing
    I have it??

Hopefully, you are running an up to date anti-virus software.
