    Hi all,

I have read several times on this newsgroup that TMPGenc DVD Author and 2.5
can be used to edit the recordable tv shows created in media centre pc's.
However, I have tried both of these packages and get error messages telling
me that the filetype is not supported.

Can somebody please confirm that they are using these programs directly with
dvr-ms files. If so any ideas as to why I am unable to do the same?

    Cheers

    Peter

TMPGnc 2.5 Plus does not support the DVR-MS format.
I've read that TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress does.

  4. Correct. TMPEnc 3 Xpress (latest update) does support DVR-MS. You'll
need to get the latest update from their website to enable this
    functionality.

DVD Author can only import valid MPEG-2 video,
as it doesn't include its own MPEG-2 encoder.
The last time I tried it, it could not extract
    the MPEG-2 stream from a DVR-MS file.

You should be able to convert the DVR-MS to
MPEG-2 using TMPGEnc XPress, then import that
    into DVD Author.
