Anyone out there using TMPGenc to burn their dvr-ms files? Program is
incredible and easy to use - but I can't seem to work around the 2 step
    process.

1.. Use their wizard to convert dvr-ms file to MPEG
2.. Use another wizard to edit and burn the MPEG to a DVD

Seems much of the other programs you can just go through one wizard and let
it chug away - this one requires a bit more babysitting - although it works
extremely well. I am very unhappy with Nero and their lack of support. The
latest patch now allows you to mess with dvr-ms files - but the quality
really isn't that good and neither is their support.

The encoder supports batch encoding, so you should be able
to encode multiple videos with a single click.

Then you just need to run through the DVD wizard for each
    DVD you want to create.

I'm pretty disappointed with Nero - I just spent $79 for Nero Ultra and
another $25 for MPEG encoder - I do not like it at all. Anyone want to
trade me serial #'s for TMPGenc - I will no longer use Nero.

Not a chance, buckaroo! But it sounds like your TMPGenc works like a charm.
Is it a free download like DVDShrink.com? My DVDShrink works fairly well
also but I'm new to MCE 2005 and am still experimenting with all of the new
video recording goodies. But even being a newbie, I know already that Nero
    is pretty useless.

TMPGenc has such a great interface - but I think I'm nearing my trial
    version end....guess I'll be spending another $69

I found the site by doing a Google search on TMPGenc. Thanks, big guy! I
can't wait to get home to try it.

It's Pegasys at http://www.pegasys-inc.com. I bought TMPGEnc Express,
TMPGEnc MPEG Editor and TMPGEnc DVD Author and their AC3 Sound Plugin
through them. Good software BUT if you have a problem and need to use their
customer service BEWARE! Their customer support is poor, everything they send
to you via e-mail is in Japaenglish ( poorly written non-discernable
Englsih). But in their defense their English is 100x better than my Japanese.
