To download or not to download...

I'm not sure about if this is the right place for this thread, but if it
isn't, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

    Anyway. So here's my question.

I have a Windows XP, and was thinking about downloading the Windows Vista
RC1[the BETA Version Microsoft is offering]. Now, I downloaded the"Advisor",
and it says that the Basic Edition would be great for my PC, though some
programs might not run due to compatibility issues. I'm having problems
making a decision on whether or not to download Vista.
I was thinking about making a Restore Point before downloading Vista, and
then if things didn't work out after downloading it, just restore my computer
back to Windows XP. Now, me not being a computer expert and stuff, I'm not
sure if things would go back to the way they were if I restore it. So, if
anyone could clear things out for me, it'll be greatly appreciated. Thank you
for your help[if you give some that is ;)], and sorry for the inconvenience
    once again.

  2. Ah, no. Vista is not a new screensaver; it is a new operating system. When
you install it, it replaces your old one, including System Restore Points.
You cannot simply uninstall or do a rollback if Vista isn't for you.

This will help you, especially the warning in red:
