Trouble burning WMA files to CD (1K .cda files result)

Discussion in 'Windows Media Player' started by Newby Networker, Oct 2, 2004.

  1. I used WMP V9 to copy a 16 track audio cd to .WMA files on my hard drive
using the 'copy from CD tab, then used the 'copy to cd or device' tab.
I then found the play list which I had created from the original CD and
copied to CD using Nero. The resultant CD is not a true audio CD in
that it does not play at all in any CD player I have and also in Windows
Explorer the CD contains 16 .cda files each 1K in size. What have I
done wrong. The writing of the CD at 2 speed (I think) took about 20
minutes, but I only have 1K .cda files, not an audio CD.

    TIA

    Ian

  2. CDA files are pointer to the "real" tracks on the CD, if you are seeing CDA
files, then it *is* a true Red Book Audio CD.

  3. But the CD does not play audio on a CD player. In WMP, the CD I have
burned does not play audio either, the elapsed time increases and the
progress bar moves as if it is playing but no audio is heard. Also the
WMP graphics eg Alchemy Random are hardly displayed at all on the screen.
