TRuncating GPOs on SBS 2003 SP1

Discussion in 'Windows Small Business Server' started by Patrick Burwell, May 24, 2006.

  1. I have issues witht eh SBS2003 server with truncating GPOs. I know how to
repair them by using an XPSP2 station with the GPMCSP1 installed and opening
the GPOs. My issue is that I would like not to have to remote into a WS but
would like to get the GPOs to STOP truncating.
    Suggestions?

I loaded the GPMCSP1 on the server to no avail.

  3. Hmm. You sure? This is dated 2004.
    I'm fully up to date.
I can't get around this truncation without using an XPSP2 platform.
I'll try it, of course, but in the mean time I uninstalled the GMPCSP1 fromt
he server to prevent my GPOs from reverting again.
Just while you're here... any reason I cannot mix XPSP2 gpo adms and W2K3
adms? some have later dates than others...
Just a Q, have been doing this for a while but wondered if I may be adding
    to the issues...

  4. I know that is old which is why I asked if up to date and if you aren't
using XP SP2 you aren't up to date :>)

  5. No no. Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear.
I remote into the network to the server (SBS2003SP1). No matter what I use
to edit the GPOs they truncate UNLESS I use XPSP2.
    :)
    Any solution?
