It seem the adjustments of the picture can only be done by the monitor settings and not separately is that right?
I have my monitor with the brightness as high as it will go and also the contrast

Any suggestions here - if I go to Computer display appearance - which one is best adjustment to use???

Depending on which TV tuner card you have, you may be able to
use a utility that's available on www.thegreenbutton.com to make
adjustments to the TV picture only.

You can adjust your TV picture brightness in the Display Control Panel

Both ATI and NVidia will give you the option to do this in their advance
options (look around, it's there somewhere).

You can adjust the TV out brightness, contrast, colors,
etc, through Nview if you've got an Nvidia card.
