TV Setup gives error when trying to confirm region (United States)

First of all, I have an 854n Media Center PC that is running MCE 2005. I
have a DirecTV D11 receiver and my pc AND Media Center was running perfectly.
Initially when I set it up I had problems with the receiver and went to
    http://blogs.msdn.com/mpoulson/archive/2006/03/09/548255.aspx to get help on
setting up my D11 receiver. I changed the registry settings like the blog
says to do and I also downloaded and replaced my user.ird file from the link
    at that same blog.

A couple of days ago I had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall
everything. Now I'm having a problem getting my Media Center setup. I again
changed the registry settings as in that blog, but the user.ird file is now
not available when I click on the link (it is just an HTML page and not the
user.ird file that once was there). I guess my first question is: does
anyone have MCE 2005 with a DirecTV D11 that is working? If so, could you
please email me a copy of your user.ird file (that may get me up and
running). You can email it to .

Now to further describe my current issue (in case nobody has that user.ird
file), I have installed successfully the Rollup 2 and the IR update file.
However, when I go into my TV Setup and start the process, it gets to the
screen where you have to pick/confirm your region. Mine says United States
and I click on the NEXT button to confirm my choice. I then immediately get
the infamouse, "EHShell.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services /
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process
    id=0xc48 (3144). Thread id=0xae4 (2788)" error.

I've included my ESHell.crash file below in the hopes that one of you
intelligent people can give me a hand and help me get my Media Center running
    correctly again.

    Here's the file:

Okay, so nobody is replying. Could someone please just email me a copy of
their user.ird file? Mine is not valid at all as it's the HTML document on
the webpage that I listed in my previous post and so I can't do ANYTHING in
my Media Center. You can find your user.ird file at C:\Documents and
    Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\eHome\. At this point I do not
care if you are even using DirecTV or not, I just need a valid user.ird file
    for my system.

Thanks! Email me a copy at

(Obviously just delete the two words "remove this" from the above email and
    you can reach me.)

Can someone PLEASE try to help me out? I'm getting so frustrated with this
that I'm ready to give up on my Media Center and just go out and buy a TIVO.

I really do appreciate your help!

You're not alone, Bob. I've just experienced the same exact problem as you
have described here. Hopefully, someone out there knows of a solution. My
last resort is to reinstall Media Center from scratch.

    Best regards,
    Ed

BTW, I should mention that I also had installed Rollup 2 and recently
discovered that media center no longer worked properly with my TV tuner card.
So, today I found that I had to update the tuner driver. After updating the
driver, I had to run my TV tuner setup once again and that's when this
problem popped up. Media Center crashes when I select United States as my
    region. Following is my ehshell.crash:

    Exception:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80070491): There was no match

    Ed,

I've had no response for some time now on this issue and so I just order a
TIVO. It's really sad, my Media Center worked so well for a long time and
now not only does it work, but I can't seem to get support on my issue.
    Good luck!
