    Hello,

I have tried to install this update and I keep receiving the same message:

I am unable to install the Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer
for Windows XP Service Pack 2 (KB883939). I get the following error message
    when I attempt to install:

The installation cannot continue because the following packages might not be
    valid:

    Package File Name Version

    SP2 c:\program files\internet explorer\iedw.exe 6.0.2900.2180

    SP2 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\dllcache\iedw.exe 6.0.2900.2180

Reinstall the packages listed above, and then install KB883939

Can someone please help me ?

    Thank You

    Dave

  2. What are its full Properties? (e.g. fileversion, date created and size)

Judging by the DLL Help Database that version does look suspicious

    http://support.microsoft.com/dllhelp/?dlltype=file&l=55&alpha=iedw.exe&S=1

What does sigverif.exe say about it?

Tip: use Help and Support to find more information about that tool.
(e.g. press Win-F1 and enter: sigverif)
