Unable to renew certificate

Discussion in 'Server Security' started by Gunnar Sundfar, Sep 8, 2004.

  1. We have installed an Enterprise CA on a Windows 2000 Domain Server. We have
used this to issue ourself a certificate to be used on our ISA Server to
    protect our OWA communication.
The solution have been working fine until 9/2/2004 when our certificate
    expired.
I'm having trouble renewing our certificate.
I started by following the steps in KB277891:
    http://support.microsoft.com/?id=277891
At step 13. Click Submit a certificate request using a base64 encoded PKCS
#10 file or a renewal request using a base64 encoded PKCS #7 file, and then
    click Next.
I received an error message in a popup:

No certificate templates could be found. You do not have permission to
request a certificate from this CA, or an error occurred while accessing the
    Active Directory.
I am aware of the KB811418: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=811418, bur it
    didn't solve my problems.
    Any ideas anyone?
