.....Additionally IE in any flavor is not found in Add/Rmove Programs (show
    updates checked).

Background: Several days ago I decided to install IE7 Beta 2. I attempted to
install it over IE7 Beta 1 as I had on another machine, however I got the
    message:

"Internet Explorer 7 is already installed on this computer. Please use 'Add
or Remove Programs' in the Control Panel to uninstyall it. It appears under
'Windows XP - Software Updates' when 'Show Updates' is checked."

I did click to uninstall IE7 via Add/Remove Programs. Nothing happened
except the IE 7 entry disappeared from Add/Remove Programs. I also checked
for a install or uninstall program in \Program Files\Internet Explorer, but
    no joy.

Using Windows XP Pro, Office Pro 2003, Zone-Alarm Suite, Wintasks, Spyware
Doctor, Registry Mechanic and Copernic Agent Pro - all patches current.

System is a Compaq Presario 2100 Laptop w/ 512 Mb RAM. Configured as test
    environment.

    TIA

IE 6 is in the add remove windows components. IE 7 B2 shows up in the
add/remove programs only when you check the box to show updates.
