    Hi all,

Probably a waste of time asking this (as its probably so embedded into Vista
that you can't touch it), but how the hell do you get rid of this speech
    recognition function ??

It's interferring with a few of my apps (all of which work fine on Vista)
that rely on sole access to my mic. Of course, with Vista listening in
awaiting any voice commands it can lay it's scripting on, I need to either
remove this function from Vista, or go back to XP.

I am highly surprised that after 5 years of dev. time, there is not the
simple option to turn this off (fully turn it off, not just put it to sleep).

Wonderful! Vista is the worst operating system in history. I'm going to get
a Mac and save myself the frustration. I hear they are selling like hot
cakes and I can see why. If anybody knows how to get rid of speech
    recognition please post it
