In Windows 2K3, is there a command line utility that will unzip files? Can
anyone point me to documentation about this feature?

    Thanks

  5. The /u switch will uncompress the file.

Sorry, this does not do what I need. I have a .zip file that I must extract
all the files out of. not compress the file in the NTFS system.

I'm sorry about that. I sent you in the wrong direction. The compact utility
will not generate zip files. It is used to create a seamless compressed
version of existing files on an NTFS partition.

Doing futher research, there are no built in command-line function for
compressing or uncompressing zip files. While there are some VBS scripts
available to accomplish this (do a google search), you would probably have
more luck using the command line functionality of third party Compression
    utilies.
One free program is 7-zip, see... http://www.7-zip.org/
Winzip also has a command line add on if you purchase the product, see...
