  2. I'm also having the problem (and many others). I've hidden the update for the
time being to stop it re-appearing. Cannot install in either automatic updates
    or manual.

I've tried a few things with failure. I have sent a copy of my log file to MS.
If I hear anything, I'll post it.

I got the same problem, its annoying, but i have patience, i am thinking of
reinstalling windows xp, but that take 4 hours maybe less ( with all the
    backing up ) dont have KB913670 index file in windows directory either;
    strange.

Perform a Windows Repair Install (NOT a Clean Install), it worked for me.

ReInstall Windows!!! This is not a serious enough problem to even think of a
    reinstall.
Simply hide the update as TaurArian suggested until MS repairs the update.
    Worked for me,

  8. Good try, but it didn't work for me. It might for others.

I had previously tried a manual install of 912475 but that wouldn't produce the
    uninstall files.

Tried your fix, even tried a manual removal of 912475 (via the uninstall files
you supplied) but that was a bit dicey due to it stating how many programs would
    be affected.

Be interesting to hear from anyone who has feedback on your fix and if it works
for them or anyone else with ideas that work for them.

Run regedit (START > RUN type regedit)
    Find KB912475 (EDIT > FIND type KB912475)
    Delete (EDIT > DELETE)
Repeat for all references to KB912475
Download the original KB912475 update and install it again
    http://au.download.windowsupdate.co...3-x86-ENU_0b878456f894ef07b7ff5db899d851d.exe

Run the KB913670 update (START > All Programs > MicroSoft Update).

This should Install KB913670 to remove KB912475. If not, then write an
    e-mail to Bill.

    What a bloody joke!
