UPDATE NET FRAMEWORK 3.5 SP1 NET FRAMEWORK 3.5 FAMILY UPDATE

    THIS UPDATE DOWNLOADED ON MY COMPUTER BUT FAILED TO INSTALL. MICROSOFT
    DOWNLOADED A SECOND UPDATE (MICROSOFT NET.FRAMEWORK FAMILY UPDATE X 86) AND
    IT INSTALLED SUCCESSFULLY. DOES THIS UPDATE REPLACE NET FRAMEWORK 3.5 SP1
    NET FRAMEWORK 3.5 FAMILY UPDATE AND IF SO HOW DO I REMOVE THE FIRST DOWNLOAD
    FROM THE HARD DRIVE SINCE IT WILL NOT INSTALL.
