    OK.

I have removed the fixes everyone has suggested.

I have .NET framework 1.0 Hotfix
    I have .NET framework 1.1
I do NOT have Hotfix KB886904
    I do have Hotfix KB886903
    I have .NET framework 2.0
    I have .NET framework 3.0

    I removed Hotfix KB891781
    I removed Hotfix KB904706

    It still doesn't work.

What's up. This shouldn't be such a headache.

    HELP!

I am having the same issue. Is some how related to the install of KB928416,
MS .NET Framework 3.0. Did you get that to install? Have been trying for
three days to get resolved and so far do not know the answer. I suspect there
is some kind of basic compatiability issue with 3.0 and XPMCE?

    I have 3.0 installed...

    Earlier I couldn't get 3.0 or rollup 2 installed.
I did an inplace re-install of mce and All updates will install except
    rollup 2.

Someone st Microsoft needs to completely understand and explain a fix for
this. Everyone and their brother is recommending removing one hot fix or
another, basically feels like stabs in the dark.

I finally got 3.0 to install last night by using msconfig and starting up in
diagnostic mode. I think the rollup thing also finally did install too. It is
gone from the Windoze Update selections anyway. 10-4 on MS getting this
fixed. They do a pretty good job of keeping stuff clean but once in a while
they do miss something like this. I have everything dual booted with Linux
Fedora 6 and one of these days we might not need MS anymore?
