can i reinstall win2003 R2 to upgrade from 32bit to 64bit? i just found out
i have a 64 bit processor so I'd like to take advantage of the additional
    features/speed where possible.

  2. Hello Leon,

You can not upgrade 32bit to 64bit OS. It is a complete fresh install, wo
save your needed data on a disk drive or burn it to disk before. If the server
is domain controller and the only one in the domain, install BEFORE a second
one to keep AD data, also make it DNS server and Global catalog and move
the 5 FSMO roles to the new installed DC then. After that demote the old
    one and reinstall it.

    Best regards
