    Hi,

    I am trying to upgrade to ultimate on my Asus V1S notebook with
    preinstalled vista business - both german versions - without success.
    Virus scanner and firewall are deactivated. The upgrade process always
    does stop at step 2 (collecting data) and the setuperr.log on
    C:$WINDOWS.~BT/Sources/Panther says:

    2007-12-29 20:18:39, Error [0x080567] MIG
    CUpgradeAgent::GetMigXmlIDs: XML parse error while loading script
    oscomps.xml: class UnBCL::XmlException: hResult = 0x0, Line = 0,
    Position = 0; Im Textinhalt wurde ein ungültiges Zeichen gefunden.
    .. .
    void __thiscall UnBCL::XmlDocument::Load(class UnBCL::String *)
    2007-12-29 20:18:39, Error [0x0802fa] MIG MigStartUp caught
    exception: class UnBCL::XmlException: hResult = 0x0, Line = 0, Position
    = 0; Im Textinhalt wurde ein ungültiges Zeichen gefunden.
    .. .
    class UnBCL::ArrayList<class UnBCL::String *> *__thiscall
    Mig::CUpgradeAgent::GetMigXmlIDs(void)
    void __thiscall UnBCL::XmlDocument::Load(class UnBCL::String *)

    Close to the end of setuperr.log I find the matching error and more:
    Warning [0x0805c4] MIG Callback_GatherOldSysMachineSpecific:
    Migrating to (C:\$UPGRADE.~OS\OnlineUpgradeStore) did not finish
    successfully
    Info MIG PublishCriticalError: Die
    Windows-Installation kann wegen eines Fehlers nicht fortgesetzt werden.
    Info [0x0a013d] UI Accepting Cancel. Exiting Page Progress.
    ..........
    Info [0x0601d7] IBS InstallWindows:Error Type = 3211266
    Info [0x090009] PANTHR CBlackboard::Close:
    c:\$windows.~bt\sources\panther\setupinfo.

    I install from CD, not via anytime upgrade.

    Hopefully someone has knowledge which could help!

    Thanks and a happy new year!!
