Upgraded my sbs2008 Standard domain's exchange 2007 to SP2 using upgrade
    tool (nice tool).
After successful upgrade and restart all looks good. Mail working with no
    error.
Noticed next morning that daily reports didn't turn up. I run ORF spam
blocker so checked and nothing catch there that should not be caught and no
monitor email. Checked SBS2008 console.reports and the visible report is for
the day I did upgrade (6am). Generate report takes 3 minutes before console
faults and restarts. Windows Sbs logs for monitoring show no new logs at
all. Nothing obvious in event logs.

    Comments?

  2. Hello,

    Thanks for your post.

Based on my research and experience the tool should not directly caused the failure or crash of monitoring and report feature on SBS 2008 server.

Please check the MonitoringServiceLogs for more information:
    C:\Program Files\Windows Small Business Server\Logs\MonitoringServiceLogs
Contains logs for SBS Monitoring and it's associated data collection tasks

If the SBS console still crashes, please also check the Console.log as well for more clues.
    C:\Program Files\Windows Small Business Server\Logs
    Console.log SBS Console Log

BTW, how about creating a new customized report and run it manually to check if the new one works? Please feel free to have a try.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

Based on the symptoms, it seems there was anything wrong with the Monitoring and Reporting feature. Pleae take your time and go ahead to check the log files. If there is any
clues, feel free to post back with detailed error messages.

    Have a good day.
