I'd like to upgrade my windows xp media center edition 2002 to media center
edition 2005. I'm not sure what this involves. I'm looking at purchasing
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 w/SP2B for System Builders -
OEM. Is this all I need?

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

That will install 2005, but you cannot perform an upgrade, i.e keep all your
installed programs and such, you must do a clean install.

Verify that you have 2002 as well, if you have applied SP2 or SP3, then you
    have MCE 2004.

The only way to verify the MCE version is in the MC interface, Setting,
    System, About.
