Hi, i hope someone can advise me on domain migration.

At current, i have a domain named parent.local. We want to re-format this
domain controller because a software just corrupted the other applications.
So we decided to use ADMT 2.0 to migrate to another domain.

When i tried to migrate the user accounts from parent.local to another
forest(newforest.com), users cannot view their files and folders which were
stored on their desktops because it uses another profile.

If i were to format the parent.local server, what's the best way to do it? I
am also planning to rename it to parent.com.

Appreciate if someone could advise me on this issue.

    Thanks.

    Regards,
    Choo

  2. When i tried to migrate the user accounts from parent.local to another
ADMT computer migration can re-ACL the profiles with the new SIDs. You
should also look at using SID History for the interim period.

Check out the Deployment Guide - Designing Directory and Security Services
    book for loads more info.
