    Hello,

Can anyone point me in the direction of how to utilize a USB to serial adapter
    with activesync reliably?

I can make it work sometimes, but sometimes I get the "unkown device" error
thrown by Activesync when I plug the adapter itself into USB port on PC (no
    HH attached).

To rectify problem, I have to switch the HH back to direct serial connection
cable > sync up via Activesync > plug HH via USB-to-serial adapter (no errors
this time) > HH syncs normally

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    drud

  4. This is the best place. I just think that no one knows. It's not going to
be a widespread method of connecting devices. I can't explain your
intermittent connectivity and I was surprised to hear that it *ever* worked.
ActiveSync uses the handshake lines for non-handshake things, so I was
impressed that the USB-to-serial driver did the right thing with the AS
commands with respect to that. Since it seems that you *have* a real serial
port, why not just use it?!
