I have a problem with a user who trying to access a folder that has
permissions set to allow her security group access to it. I made sure
this user is a member of the particular security group, and applied
permissions without any restrictions to allow that security group access

to the folder, but she cannot open the folder. However, if I give
"Administrators" security group access to the folder (which she is a
member of) she can access it just fine. This is a Windows 2000 domain
and the server is running Windows 2000SBS. There are no explicit deny
restrictions on the folder, and the "allow inherited permissions..." in
    the folder`s properties is unchecked.

  2. Check the share permissions..
user may need full controll of the share permissions (depending on app) and then apply the Security permissions...its 2 step

Actually, I just want them to be able to open the folder through explorer, which they can`t do unless I apply permissions to the
"administrators" group and not the appropriate group. Since the folder I am trying to give them access to is a subfolder of a
share, do I need to leave the "allow inheritable permissions..." box checked even though I gave them permissions to the
    subfolder?
