I'm using Windows SUS 2.0 with SQL 2005 Express on a Windows server 2003. It
works fine. Recently, I got the error message from the source MSSQL$WSUS
with the message "CREATE DATABASE or ALTER DATABASE failed because the
resulting cumulative database size would exceed your licensed limit of 4096
MB per database." Does any one out there know how can I reduce the
    database?

    TIA.

  2. That would depend on /why/ the database has reached 4GB in size.

It could be that 4GB is the reasonably expected size of a WSUS database in
    your environment.

To work around the 4GB limitation of SQL 2005 Express Edition, you can:
[a] revert back to WMSDE which has no size limitations, or
upgrade to SQL 2005 Workgroup Edition (which will cost you some $$$
    in server licensing and CALs)
