USMT / PST and PAB Files

Discussion in 'Server Migration' started by Stefan Petersen, Nov 22, 2005.

  1. Dear All,

I want to use USMT to migrate my Office 2003 Files and Settings. I
recognized that all of my PST and PAB Files are not migrated. Are thes files
excluded and if they are, how can I integrate them in the appropriate
    (which?) INF-File?

    Regards
    SP

  2. Hi,

In order to migrate all pst and pab files customer needs to add the
    following in the
    miguser.inf file
    Messaging files
; Notes: default PST is migrated to
    %csidl_local_appdata%\Microsoft\Outlook\Microsoft\Outlook
    *.pst, %csidl_personal%\Outlook
    *.pab, %csidl_personal%\Outlook

    Hope it helps.

  3. Vincent,

in which section must I add your mentioned parts?
Is this a new section or do I need to implement it in a section that already
exists? I do not have a section which is named "Messaging Files" in the
    miguser.inf by default.

    Best Regards

  5. Vincent,

thank you for your reply. This does the trick.

But on to another one: I receive a strange error message "1332" when I use
scanstate and/or loadstate. What does this error mean, how can I resolve it
and what is the impact of my migration?

It seams to me that every file ist migrated and nothing is lost but the
    error is still appearing.

    Best Wishes

  7. Hello Vincent,

I am wondering why I receive two errors with two different SID's in
    SCANSTATE and LOADSTATE.

    ERROR:
Warning Failed to find account information for
    S-1-5-21-xxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxx-xxxx.

Info Error 1332: Zuordnungen von Kontennamen und
    Sicherheitskennungen
    wurden nicht durchgeführt.

  8. Hi,

This indicates that the account being listed is not being recognized by the
process. This is almost certainly related to the configuration of the USMT
    process
    being implemented.

quick way to check if the profile was migrated from source to target is the
    following key

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0 ---> outlook XP profile

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0 ---> after outlook 2003
    upgrades the profile.

In addition, we support English version system here. For your issue, I'd
like to suggest you post in relevant language newsgroup.

    Thanks for understanding.
