    Hi Everyone

Does anyone have an example of how I could validate that a provided
username/password are valid on the local machine?

    Thanks

  2. You could try to net use InterProcess Communication share IPC$ on the local
    box.

    From a Command Prompt...
    net use \\machine\ipc$ /u:machine\username password

If you get a Logon failure, the username / password is not valid.
If you get a command completed, then it's good.

To try another account, you will first need to delete the sucessfull
    connection...
    net use \\machine\ipc$ /d
