    Hi,

I've setup a WSUS server and a single client for testing purposes and I'm having problems getting WSUS to see it. I'm not in an active directory environment so I've edited the relevant registry keys to point WindowsUpdate to the server, but it isn't showing up. I tried the wuauclt.exe /detectnow and wuauclt.exe /resetauthorization /detectnow cmds with no success. On running the ClientDiag.exe I get the above error message (full log below). I can ping the server and can connect to the management web page from the client PC with no problem.

Has anybody got any idea what the solution to this problem is?

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

    Tony
