Very slow browsing of "My Network Places".

Hello. I have a particular user on my Server 2003 network domain whose laptop
(Windows XP) browses "My Network Places"/"Entire Network" very, very
slowly.This particularlaptop is about a year old and otherwise a very fast
machine. The computer is completely up-to-date with Windows Updates.

In a seemingly related matter, this particular user has trouble connecting
to a couple of network Share drives that everyone else can get to with no
problem. But, they can connect fine to other network Share drives.

Any help that can be offered to figure these problems of slow My Network
Places browsing and inability to connect to certain Share drives would
be very much appreciated.

Thank you for your reply. I compared the IP / DNS settings of the problem
computer to another computer that is working fine. And, I found that they
are both identical.

Also, even though my comparison computer is old and generally slow, it
browses much faster than the newer problematic computer.

Thanks again for your help. I have identified additional symptoms that I
will notate in a new thread under a more appropriate category.
