video background is too dark

    I downloaded the windows 9 series for the windows me
    version and now whenever I view a video I have downloaded
    or just clicked on to view, the background is very dark.
    I have adjusted the display adapter, changed to have a
    screensaver and background, nothing is helpful. I tried to
    turn down the brightness and contrast as well and to know
    avail, nothing has changed. How do I fix this problem? My
    system doesn't show any problems.
