My laptop is connected to a flatscreen monitor and every time I need to view
a video clip I can get sound but no video. It works on my laptop but not on
the monitor. The same thing happens when I connect to a projector. I have a
meeting on the 16th June where I will need to show some video clips. I can't
have everyone looking at the laptop. Any advice/help would save me.

  2. You should be able to do this by adjusting the display properties on
windows media 9 or 10 : Go to the player menus Tools-> Options ->
Performance and hit the 'Advanced' button. That will get you a screen
where you can turn off overlays, which should get your external
    monitor working.

It could though, be an option within your display card settings you
need to set - NVidia provide an option to switch between internal and
    external video displays, for example.

<< Passes lifeline : The best bet I've seen recently though is listed
here : The top item "Windows Media Professional Exhibitor (25MB)"
allows full-screen playback on a secondary monitor, while viewing and
controlling it on your laptops built-in monitor. You'll need a recent
laptop for it to work though.
