I been using Virtual PC 2004 for a while now and fine it to work well for my
development task. As a MSDN subscriber I can now use Virtual Server 2005
also for development. Are the .VHD files compatable with Virtual PC 2004
and Virtual Server 2005 or do I have to start over and re-create my Virtual
PC if I start using Virtual Server 2005.

  2. They are compatible although you may want to remove the VPC additions before
moving the .vhd files to VS and then after the move install the VS
    additions.

Yes, they are compatible. There some minor hardware differences, like no
SCSI in VOC, and no sound in VS, that might effect you...

  4. The .vhd files are esentially compatible.

Virtual Server does not support a soundcard and before using them, you shuld
update the VMAdditions to those distributed with Virtual Server.

I have migrated a number of VM's created with VPC to VS successfully.
